#8 – Gracious Hosts - Airing live from 2:00pm to 4:00pm (PST), January 15th on PRA (click here to listen LIVE)
This episode will be focusing on talking to female-identified members of the BDSM Community that host in their own spaces.
My confirmed guests for this episode will be Gabriella who runs Lotus Heart Center and Ms Stephanie who runs Twisted Ceder Estate!
Ms Stephanie is co-owner/operator along with her partner of 13 years of Twisted Cedar Estate, a Bed and Bondage outside of Portland, Oregon. Modeled after your everyday bed and breakfast, Twisted Cedar Estate offer their guests the use of a beautiful dungeon, a 4000 square foot lodge style home, and eight private wooded acres to experience the freedom of exploring their kinks. TCE is clothing optional and sex positive. The mission of TCE is to provide a magical experience for all their guests. To honor all desires including relaxation, stimulation, kinky play, sexual or sensual play, transgender exploration, workshops, photo shoots or just a romp in the woods (naked if you‘d like!). Some workshops that Twisted Cedar Estate has hosted include The Butchmann’s intensive Master/slave 3 day retreat, The Hangman’s Flesh Hook Suspension weekend retreat, The Bad Girls Howl retreat, and the Scott Church Erotic Photography intensive workshop. TCE also hosts collaring ceremonies and private parties.
Ms Stephanie is a sailor, musician, lover of kink, sex positive, trysexual, trans woman, and a corporate professional by day. She identifies as a Domme and service top. She does not consider herself a sadist, although some discomfort (consensual of course) of her play partner(s) is a huge turn on for her. Occasionally she will switch if the energy is there. She is married to an awesome woman. They are poly and love to play with others and often share their quarry. She has been physically transitioning since November 2007 via hormone replacement therapy. She also enjoys all the usual implements of administering corrective action: paddles, floggers, whips, cat-o-nine tails, canes, and restraint with shackles, rope, a stern word, a look….. She has been active in the leather community in Portland since 1998 since she discovered after much searching the Rose City Discussion Club (RCDC), which just disbanded after 15+ years of existence. She also been a member of the Portland Leather Alliance (PLA) since 1999, served on the board, organized events, and put on workshops. She has taught a number of workshops including Erotic Embarrassment, Sensuous Play, Role Play to Enhance BDSM, Strap On Sex, Flogging 101, and she is a guest speaker regularly at PSU on Transgenderism and BDSM.
Gabriella is the founder of ErosFest NW, Sex-Positive Portland Meetup, and has recently taken over the Portland Tantric Meetup, and she was the visionary behind Sex, Love, & Spirit, a coalition of sex-positive groups. Her center, Lotus Heart, hosts visiting teachers, events, and workshops and is available to rent for your next event.
Although tantric principles form the foundation of her work as an intimacy coach and healer, Gabriella has been influenced by contemporary Western writers in areas of love, relationship, and spiritual/sexual integration, these include Erich Fromm, Marianne Williamson, Osho, David Deida, and Charles and Caroline Muir. As a rare (for the West) second generation tantrika she was indoctrinated in the tantric arts at a young age; that and a brief time as a courtesan, set a strong foundation for what was to follow. After being discovered by her teacher and mentor, Anna Marti, Gabriella participated in dozens of workshops with the likes of Daniel O’Dier, Steve & Lokita Carter, and Charles Muir and has completed a certification program at The School of Tantra in Maui. She leads workshops, facilitates tantric pujas, and has presented at the World Polyamory conference.
Some questions that I will be addressing will include… How long have you been hosting events? What made you want to open your own space for events? What have been some challenges you’ve had to overcome in opening/running up your own space? What have been some unexpected perks of hosting events in your own space?
Is there a woman you’d like to hear on this episode? Is there a question you have for me or the announced guests? Comment here or email BDSMontheRadio [at] gmail [dot] com directly!
